Welcome and feel lucky to have a great dealer who treats beginners with respect! From postings, it seems to be somewhat rare.

Thank you, everybody.
The local dealer is a great guy. He often just trades me face for many coins. Last week I got a complete Ike year set for face. He has sold me several coins that are way below book. Seems he has made his money and mostly wants to help others without losing too much himself if you know what I mean. Good fellow to deal with.
Thanks again to everybody. Enjoying it here already!

Welcome, always nice to see another Texan on the board. My 8 year old son started collecting recently as well. I really enjoy the time we spend together looking through loose change.
The people here are very friendly and helpful.

I appreciate the big welcome from everyone. JonS.7070, I think I get the treatment because me and my son are new to the hobby. I've seen the man deal much more seriously with some of his other clientele. But He is very fair. Glad to be here!

WELCOME TO THE FORUM. OH NO. Not another coin collector. Now there will be even less for me out there. Have you been informed that all new members should buy coffee for the rest of us? Just push mine through your monitor to me. By the way you mentioned you purchased sets but didn't say if in albums or folders. If in folders I suggest you spend a little money and purchase albums. Folders are the ones where you can not see the reverses of coins and albums are the ones with plastic slides where you can see both sides. For long storage of coins the folders are not the best idea. Usually you push them in with your thumb leaving finger prints all over the coins.

Welcome to the forum. Finding a good dealer that you can trust is a big part of the battle of coin collecting, finding us is another big part because we have some very knowledgeable people here in just about every aspect of coin collecting and they are always happy to help in any way they can

I have purchased mint sets in Gov't. packaging. Both sides displayed. Some proofs. Some silver editions. I am/was a pro firefighter. Politics and a different culture here in S. Texas ie; no Brotherhood, have caused me to retire early. TOO EARLY. But I accept prayers and will make coffee for all of you. Thanks for the love!
Tex.
