 I agree with Mr. Canada, what you seem to have are proof sets issued by the Royal Canadian Mint. And, also,  to the Forum.  |

to CCF. Can you post pics of the silver bars? Are they stamped with anything? with MrCanada. Seems like you have mint sets. Do those years mean anything special to you or your friend? That maybe why they were prized. |

Here's some pictures. It depends on the type of case they are in. The proof like '67 sets came with a silver medallion(red leather case) or $20 gold (black or brown(rare) leather case) coin only. But you mention neither. The b unc came in cello. Of couse they are for Canada's Centennial and have animal reverses. A one time set. The '64 sets were for Charlottetown and Canada's Constitution... a one time Dollar. But a collector could have assembled a '67 set like in the last photo.    Edited by IBGolden

i have it like in the last picture.... for both of the sets
as for the silver bars they have stamps on all of them...
some have a western mint inc. one has sears 20 years in bc, one has gastown bc, one has big horn sheep... these all have serial numbers
i have 4 oz of u.s.v.i. ingot co.
i also have 7.5 oz of national refiners-assayers all with serial numbers
plus what looks like a logo... epm is in a diamond shape... there is 2 oz of it

on another note I know of someone who has some of these type of bars with the days of christmas....

 Unfotunately, most of the items you listed were just common every day coins. Total trend values are appr. $30.00-$60.00. Take 'em to your local coin store and they'll give you bullion value for it. This should give ya enough to treat you and your best friend to a movie and some popcorn! Enjoy! Glenn Edited by glenzy1

only thing is I don't have a local coin store... at least I don't think I do... but thanks for the info, I am not sure that I wanna sell them either, b/c they were my grandpa's and he has now passed on... and its about all I have from him...

these all seem to be in awesome condition... the pics are fully recognizable and they are in coin cases...
i also have 14.5 troy ozs in silver... all in either half oz or 1 oz
Sounds like you've got about $200 worth of coins/bullion. If it were my grandfather's, I'd keep it! |

2. run, run far away and fast. You will get sucked in like I have!

I used to work for the USVI Ingot Company. Our main production facility was actually located in Anaheim, California, but we did some work in Del Mar and Buena Park before finding a 'home'. The company was incorporated in the US Virgin Islands, but we did not do production there. Sometimes USVI Ingot company products appear on ebay. I don't know if there is any 'collector' value above the spot silver price, but some people are very fond of the 1oz. small 'loaf' bars. The original rounds with the uncontained edges and pseudo Roman or Zodiac designs were made in very small quanties and are probably among the rarest of our items. Amark loaf bars were our main product. I started to write an article about our business, but never finished it. (The photos were gone, but now they are back!) Lady_marianna, I am a grand father, in fact a great frand father. I would like to feel that whoever gets my collection of misc coins from Canada, and US, plus Mexico. What they do with it is entirely up to them. Now for a bit of advice: Hold onto the coins, and buy youself a book that twell you about your coins, and their condition. That way, you will end up with a value, (to you) of the coins,and Bullion. The Bullion is variable, as the spot price of silver goes, goes the value/troy OZ. There aren't enough coins to call it a collection, but it could be the beginning of YOIUR personal collection. I figure you to be quite young, and have a lot of yaers ahead of you. If you build on these coins, think what you might have in 50 years! Least of all, the memories you will have , after all those years, thinking back I started this with only.....!
