Neat! I am forwarding this to a twoonie error collector that I know.

I bet it's a nice grade coming out of that roll in the same year. Too much glare on the pic. What do you think it grades in hand? Very cool find. And... .

I'll try to remember to post some better pics of it tonight. I am pretty unfamiliar with coin grading (just did a quick google) and I'd put it between xf and au.

this has to be pretty rare, I have never seen a clipped insert.. Would be nice to see a close up of the clipped area, the details should be flowing into the clip..

I'm not exactly gentle with my collection. I classified them by region or theme in ziplock bags and put them in a tin. I never really looked at condition outside of "ooooo, shiny!"

Hey SPP, Ask Jamie why didn't we make a few of these in bar at Toronto show when we struck up deal for my 1858 8/5 ten cent for his 1859 9/6 large cent? Nice coin Luggin!

I am still waiting for him to chime in on this thread, as I know you both have this clipped core error type.

Now that I'm drunk and remembering random things, this is the ONLY error coin I've ever cracked that I've noticed. And I have cracked thousands of rolls of toonies.

So will this be the seed that grows your future error collection?

Maybe! I've kept a half assed eye open for 20 years, and this is the only one I've pulled so far.

Impressive. Never occurred to me that it was possible.

Luggin, well that one is definitely cool, and an uncommon error type. It is worth a good price, so protect it well.
