Hey all!

I've been lurking around this board off and on for about 10 years, hoping to find some information about a clipped center planchette toonie. General info, value, commonality of error, etc.
New-Guy-With-A-Clipped-Toonie

Thanks!

It's a 2002. I work at the Beer Store and pulled it out of a roll that same year.

Neat! I am forwarding this to a twoonie error collector that I know.

I bet it's a nice grade coming out of that roll in the same year. Too much glare on the pic. What do you think it grades in hand? Very cool find. And...

I'll try to remember to post some better pics of it tonight. I am pretty unfamiliar with coin grading (just did a quick google) and I'd put it between xf and au.

this has to be pretty rare, I have never seen a clipped insert.. Would be nice to see a close up of the clipped area, the details should be flowing into the clip..

There's multiple tiny nicks on the outer ring, and it's not as glossy as a new coin.

I'm not exactly gentle with my collection. I classified them by region or theme in ziplock bags and put them in a tin. I never really looked at condition outside of "ooooo, shiny!"
