Great Find, Congrats! I love good "no doubt" true doubled die finds! I am of the exact same thought when I discover errors and varieties such as this -I wish it was in better shape......- But hey..... at least you found one. Good job.

Very nice find! An obvious doubled die. While it is unfortunate the coin's reverse is ugly, the obverse is quite nice and leaves the variety unaffected. Very cool!

Given the number of errors and varieties known on 1983 Lincolns, they can be remarkably hard to find. Well done indeed to score a die 1. Congrats on the find!

Very nice find. I search all my 83's but really find anything of interest. You also took exceptional photographs of the coin. I need to take some time and learn how to shoot better Coin photography. Keep up the hunting my friend good job.

thanks Soder47, John1

John1, I dont know if acetone will help. I usually try to keep everything away from zinc coins.

i will experiment on another coin first.

i will try acetone, xylene, and verdi-care on three different zinc coins.

I been successful at using Verid-Care for getting many things off coins. I think it will clear up most of that reverse surface but the stains from it will stay.

Thats a great coin either way. Nice find!!
