I included this with the submission
Hello, This is a freshly slabbed coin with RFID, Gold Shield and True View. The slab must be defective as the coin is rolling around in there like a Ferris wheel.
I am also asking for a reconsider on the grade from XF-45 to AU-50.
According to your photo grade pictures, it would also appear to merit AU-50.
My general thought is that if it was slabbed poorly, maybe it was graded poorly.
If you do not agree, At the very least, I ask you repair the slab.

If it is the same grade, they should really reslab it for free because of the slippery internal gripper. Good luck with getting an AU50 !

Quote: I'm hoping that was for a forum chuckle.... It was, but If I'm paying for it, I sent it in with the package, at least they can read it for what I'm getting charged They recently had a change in managment, as evidenced by them putting it in the system a week earlier then they usualy do for a standard submission

We had a few folks that said it was fairly graded, and a Bunch that said it should be an AU 50. I took a shot, maybe they will fix the slab in any case.
I think it will upgrade, but wont be dissapointed if it doesn't.Its on the border line.

These guys are KILLING me LOL, its been in this status for a week. I dunno if it's because I asked them to fix the defective slab or there giving it extra thought, or there just back logged. Could also be the less then flattering note that went in with it LOL, probably like....let him eat cake for a while :)

What grading tier @farrider? I've heard regular subs are taking anywhere from 20-45 days as of late. I've got a reconsideration in since 8/25, I'll be happy if it goes out by that date this month .

It's regular. I'm just going off all the other ones I've had in. When the grading block came on, it never took more then 2 days to finish.

It's now in QA with no grade, and they invalidated the cert number. I wonder if thats a good or a bad thing LOL

Grade won't post until it's out of QC. Hopefully the invalid cert means it got a grade bump and getting assigned a new #

Came in real late 23:22 hours.......they charged me $71 to leave it a XF 45 and kill the cert number. I hope they at least fixed the case !!!!

Ignore the PCGS grade, and be happy with your AU-53 example!!! Clearly way better than XF, and better than AU-50.

My 2 cents. Initially I was at XF45, so I won't disagree with them. The more I looked at it, I could see it making AU. IMO, there's a couple of heavier hits to the obverse and reverse fields, also including the heavier cheek hit/scratch, that bump it down from AU to XF. The luster is there for AU, overall wear is AU50, but the overall number of larger hits bring it down.
I personally would have cracked this one. I know it's not "supposed" to make a difference, but If I'm confident it won't downgrade, I've had better luck with a crack and submit over a reconsideration.
Regardless, nice example! Onward!
