Note on the reverse of your coin, there is extreme die wear on the reverse? Between the Five Cents and the USA, there is extreme die wear on that area. Note that the mintmark falls right in that area as well. So a lot of die wear has happen on the die that struck you coin.

It's probably 5 full steps, but need better pics to be sure. Note that some graders disqualify FS due to hits on the steps. To me, FS is an indicator of strike quality, something subsequent hits cannot change.

Sorry Nick I have to disagree with you . Any hit to steps interrupting the first five horizontal steps would disqualify FS designation . Need to have at least 5 full steps with no breaks . OP's coin has a slanted vertical disruption through the middle of all steps .

I've given up on the FS. When you look at the graded examples, I disagree with all of them.

We are looking for close-ups of the MM, not enlarged pics of your original coin.

I agree with COOP, this FS I think it is only marketing issue for their ways to keep the prices and theirs assignment of the coins.

PS.: The ANA standard contradict those TPG.

Obviously not FS. Going to need a close up of the mint mark and in focus with less glare.

Close, but even without the hit this one is not FS.

All other things being equal, I'd rather have a well-struck EDS FS (except-for-a-hit-on-the-steps) nickel than an LDS, orange-peeled example without the hit. I apply the same standard to all denominations, but due to the hard alloy, the die state and resulting eye appeal is especially apparent on Jeffersons.
