The obverse doesn't appear to have as much luster as the reverse from the photos. I am also wondering if some of those hairlines by the eagles head are on the holder or coin. Hard to make a call without this one in hand. From the pictures, I would probably say a MS64

appears to have hairlines? Most noticeable on the reverse near the wings

the 02(O) have average strikes. for strike I say this makes the grade. it appears the luster is unbroken on both sides. there are some hairlines that do not appear to be polishing however if the coin is slabbed then its hard to say whats on the coin or the slab. I'm going with what we are seeing is on the coin so for surface preservation I have it as average. fairly clean cheek with some minor marks. overall eye appeal is good.
MS64 and I think its premium for the grade. Green bean

I think it lacks eye appeal, but that's just me. MS-62 would be as high as I go, probably graded at a less grade?

I'll give this one another day seeing as nobody has got the grade, and I'm not expecting you too either, I don't particularly agree with it myself, this one is a puzzler.

I'll say 66 looks very clean.

Here is the slab: There are supposedly 5 better in PCGS and none better in CAC. This rates as a top pop coin with both PCGS and CAC at MS67. I had it at MS64++ only because this date and mint mark combination are known for flat or weaker strikes. This one isn't much better than average in that department, and the hit over the eye, IMO should keep this out of MS67 territory. To argue MS65 I have no issue I can see it at that tier no problem, but much higher I'm baffled, this coin could be MS66 in hand, but I really don't see that from the points mentioned. Maybe it really is nicer than the photo shows and maybe the luster is amazing (it does look much better in the slab photo), the cheek is clean, possibly the hit over the eye is just minor and not deep, but only from the photos I have to go on... It's not a coin I'd be thrilled owning at the price they are asking. It's for sale at Stack's/Bowers currently at $10,750.00 https://www.stacksbowers.com/pages/...otId=1676006Good to see the guesses, I'm in agreement with more than half of you, it's a nice example of a tougher date in high grade. The other MS67+ examples are worthy of the grade shown at Coin Facts: https://www.PCGS.com/coinfacts/coin/1902-o-1/7280The following MS67 coin looks nicer at half the price and sold at the same time (8/21) by Heritage for only $5,040.00... https://coins.ha.com/itm/morgan-dol...ption-071515Also to say a nice MS66+ slabbed PCGS can be found for around $1200 and to go MS67+ add $20K to the asking price, it's a coin in a weird pricing area.

Fake slab with fake bean? Otherwise, all hits must be on the slab itself.

Details cleaned indeed! Admittedly the coin looks much nicer in the last slab photo . .

That's for sure. Misleading obverse image to start, waste of a thread.

Clean cheek always gets my attention. Very seldom come across a BU Morgan with nothing on the cheek. Then clean fields. Only significant hit seemed to be on reverse. Luster always difficult to assess from photo so gave it benefit of the doubt. Still surprised at 67 though but I thought a shoe-in for 66.

Still don't see that any higher than MS65.
