I'm poking fun, easy there cowboy. I too am curious as to how this one ends up.

It is a 2012 coins. The Hammer in question is hold by 4 points with no way to move from the main axel. If it is MD, is physical impossible to be only one digit doubling. Here I have hard time to understand. Vertical old time strike I understand, but the modern horizontal strike?!!!! I am skeptical. Those machines are so compact that if one piece is out of the range or loose just stop. Old think of what was I do not think could apply to this modern way to produce the coins.
I think all the community and those sites must adapt. Strikes till 1999 and second after 1999. Why we still refractory to the modern era?

When Is he going to.update his listings, after the coin week article? Also, could you share a pic of the correspondence from him that says this? Not saying you're lying but I very curious to see this because if.this is the case is like to know what the difference is compared to other incused devices because I've always been under the impression that the reasons given why it isn't a dd were correct. I'm curious as to how many coins I've possibly tossed aside, if any, if they're is some sort of exception to.the rule.

Quote: he... found doubling on the coin unrelated to the part you posted the image This has to be the case. The doubling on the 2 is in no way a doubled die. Probably has some doubling on the neck of the sheep like the other Denali DDRs. Wexler mentions these incuse letters in his own article about Machine Doubling: http://www.doubleddie.com/144822.html

@Tanman yeah, I assume that has to be what it is. Wexler would have had to have been asleep at the wheel completely to have given an attribution number for the image OP posted, let alone to have written an entire article on the coin...

The planchet is held into the collar till after the strike, then it rises and is ejected from the chamber:

No, OP got this one wrong. I emailed Wexler and he confirmed what Tanman and I suspected, which is that the doubling was in a completely unrelated area of the coin that OP didn't post. Basically OP mailed a random quarter to Wexler and it happened to have a DDR on it.

Hi all this is a letter from John Wexler received Aug 22, 2022. Since then there have been a few Double die Reverse on single squeezed Washington quarters. This has not made it to any of the reference platforms for obvious reasons, I will reach out to the new person in charge to see if it can be added as a new discovery DDR.

Have you actually read where the doubling is for WDDR-015? It has nothing to do with the numbers.

I can't even read that document. Can you flatten it out and get a better photograph of it?

The photos Wexler took of WDDR-015 (this coin) have been lost. I need to see the coin in-hand to retake pictures. I had totally forgotten about this thread and had no idea this was the missing coin!
I have been trying to get Drag to resubmit the coin to me for a year and a half now. We have been in contact over email a few times. Though it sounds like this is news to him...?
He emailed me around the same time he reopened this thread. I have sent a reply and hopefully this can get resolved soon.
