100% Chinese counterfeit.

I do want to point out that the roll at least had a 1926 and four 1930s, so it wasn't total bunk.

Besides general appearance are there specific die marks that would indicate a Chinese counterfeit?

They just don't look authentic.
China pumps these out faster than the RCM makes commemorative tokens

Just compare the word CANADA on the reverse, especially the serifs with a genuine one.
You don't have to go any further than that.

The fact that the piece is not a Specimen
and did not originate from Mint Master
La Fontaine's family estate is another
dead giveaway .
The 1936 Dot Cents were not regular issue
coinage .

The I's on obverse look like chess pawns.......nose is detached from face........typical of 1923, 1925 and 1936 counterfeits.

Do not really have to put this question of legitim. Was only 800. 793 are in the reserve of the England Mint. In fact only 786 coins. The 7 are in the Royal Foamily collections. Other 7 are already know where they are and is suppose those was some gifts gave to the high society members in Canada. In time change the owners, but not many.
