Wife: However, she is more into scrapbooking. Oldest Son: Mainly U.S. Mint products. Youngest Son: Avid collector. Daughter: Mainly U.S. Mint products. Only three of the six grandkids are into collecting, but they are young, ranging in age from five to nine. The collectors are: Ali: Avid collector, loves U.S. circulated coins. Christiaan: Avid collector, loves foreign stuff with animals pictured. Daniel: Just getting started.

Yeah well, my wife likes collecting but not coins. She collects anything that takes her fancy, old funiture, chamber pots, ivory carvings (not politically correct these days)and Lilliput Lane ceramics. No wonder I have no money to buy coins!

I am very lucky in that my Daughter is an avid collector. I also have a Brother in Law that is a major "hoarder " of coins. My Father in law collected for 45 years with a coin club from Brinks Armored Car Service. He was the Silver Vault Manager for many years. He still has some neat stuff and helped me a lot with Buffalo nickels many years ago. I still have not seen his entire collection! Mike

No zippo, only me. No one else interested at all. The coins are all mine, all mine I say. Steve

Everyone in the family collects something "geographic" (must be a genetic thing... ) but no-one else does coins. Dad does seashells, my brother does stamps and my mum does teaspoons and fridge magnets.

My Brother(9 years) collects notes and my mom collects masks(antique and modern)
I continued the generation of coin collecting. My granddad collected them.

My 7 year old grand niece is starting to show some interest in coins , so I have been giving her a lot of my coins to help engender her interest. My nephew has a fabulous collection of Lincoln cents, mercury dimes ,Washington quarters with all the key dates.

My cousin is the only one I know who collects coins in the family. He was the one that got me into coins but he's in a standstill nowadays, just the spare coins I give him. Now my collection is larger than his and I use that to tease him so he can get back into action:)

My dad is a collector, and so is one of my mom's brothers. Several of my cousins used to fill "penny" books, but I don't know if they still do or not. My grandfather was a hoarder, you should have seen the size of the box of cents my dad and I inherited when he passed away! [:0] Rachel [:p]

My father and my grandfather accumulated some coins many years ago, but they aren't actively acquiring any more coins. My grandfather, noticing the recent price increases in precious metals, is thinking of selling a few. I'm the only person in the family who actively collects.

It's funny how I got affected by my parents as they used to keep the coins that they went abroad. That was how I started collecting coins. Of course, they weren't as serious as I was, as I paid money to buy coins, whereas, theirs was just mere changes.
I guess their altitude changed as I started hoarding Russian silver coins and they had to admit it was quite something :D
What suprised me was when my mom ACTUALLY bought a coin just this week! *lol*
I can't help to stop laughing that collecting can be a highly infectious hobby :)

No one here I know collects either. Last Christmas I gave out Sacagawea coins to my neices and nephews to see if any of them might show an interest but so far no takers. Gues that just means more for me!
