Or a glued on mintmark from another coin? Note how it stands taller than normal.

I don't think it is even metal. When I enlarge it it looks slightly opaque. Glue maybe?

Try soaking the coin in acetone. It will probably come off.

Hi!
I soak this coin in Olive Oil for 4 hours and then in Acetone for 30 Seconds. Not taking chances to screw up.
Here are the results from different angles...The chip is not budging.

Wrong shape for a mintmark for that year. Could have been glued with Epoxy? It didn't happen at the mint.

Geez Coop, same environment and metal content to me...but then again, people do the craziest things and not too smart to glue it a mile away...he, he.

Hi!
After soaking the coin in Olive oil and Acetone over the weekend, I decided to send more images to Coneca for their opinion.
Meanwhile, be safe and I will keep you posted.

If it were legit, we would have seen many coins that look like that.

Olive oil is a corrosive. I wouldn't use that.

@merclover...No one wants to clean their coin, but sometimes you need to take measures to find hidden treasures. Someone from the Coneca forum sent me this link just now: https://minterrors.org/cleaning-a-c...-you-do-this
Olive oil will never damage your coin I was told.

@coop...With so many counterfeits out there, one never knows...scammers and Rottweilers.
I just need to know.
