Well, any process has a certain number of errors. While I don't know the % for ICCS, this is a pretty egregious one.

Wow, how does that happen? They need some serious QC.

Maybe there is a 1964 penny listed as a 1927. Could be 2 cards swapped so grade could be wrong on ops penny.

Lustre looks pretty vibrant and unbroken. Why only 62?

Only 62 probably due to a couple of minor field
Marks obverse .

Have they always used "Lustrous" Brown in descriptions? This is the first I've seen.

Yes they do use ''lustrous brown'' mention for a while now. From ms-60 to Ms-64, I don't think I've ever seen a Ms-65 brown or lustrous brown cent from ICCS...

Caribou; Red? What does that even mean?

I understand the caribou because there were 2 types of 25 cents made that year (the other was Canada Day), but the TPG must have been thinking about pennies , and red ones.

It's certainly an odd one. I'd post a picture of the other side but it's quite literally a generic caribou without a hint of any abnormal colour.

Not sure how this happened. It's a goofy one!

To put the thread back on track..
The 1927 is being reholdered and returned to me
by ICCS . The proper description and grade are
1927 MS63 Lustrous Brown !
They apologized for the mistake . More than happy to accept the apology!
I do find it hard to believe that someone actually
paid $14 CAD to get ta 1964 MS62 cent certified!
But they did!

Perhaps it was a 'Missing G' or 'Missing MG' on the obverse, or an 'Extra Spine' or 'Extra Bud' ( DDR) or even the Zoell 'dot' on the reverse.

ICCS obviously do not comment on most of these, but I can see someone wanting a mint state variety certified.

I'm always defending ICCS for many reasons.

Mostly because I graded and valued not coins all my business life, but rather diamonds and gemstones.

One thing I can state for certainty because we share this in common, is every mistake you make goes down on paper and the 'world' can see it.

Can't avoid your gaffes when you're typing every detail on paper.

How many of you with office jobs or trades jobs make mistakes and you can correct them without the 'world' seeing them?

Think about everytime you've goofed up (and we all have, many times) everyone would be witness to it.

And let's not forget, PCGS has made many mistakes too.

At least ICCS fees are around $12 per coin and not $50 per coin like PCGS.

I'll still take ICCS over any other company for Canadian coins.

Despite a few gaffs I'm putting some confidence in ICCS and sending in my first coin for grading by them. I'll start a new thread to see what others think they will give it.
