Lots of small dings and scratches, (many more than just for bag marking), but I don't see any visible wear on the highpoints.
MS-60 or 61.

Coin should sell for around MS60 money . In my opinion look for one with better eye appeal . Do not really like the reverse on this piece. Has some of that yellow cancer that cannot be removed! One thing to remember about 1948 Dollars. They are hardly rare , just cost money . Be patient , wait for a nicer one !

I would love to see a close-up or mag of the date, especially the 8, which doesn't look right. The '48's have been faked alot and many times show the fake by the 8. Just take a look at the 8's in the 10-15 that are on ebay now, as well as those "sold"..

To be clear, I'm not interested in buying it. I ran across it and thought it would be a good GTG. I have one that looks very similar.

Best I could do with the seller image. Looks like it may have taken a hit across the bottom loop of 8. It has the diagnostic die scratch across the inside of 9 loop (circled) which occurs on the "notched 4" reverse die I documented a few years ago on here. I think that would be difficult to fake. PCGS deemed it genuine.

I think that the 8 took a little hit as well. Things look OK now with the close-up and signs of a "ding".

I think a little higher, MS63.

Here's what PCGS gave it. I agree with most others, seems more like MS62 to me. They seem to be all over the place with grading these. Jump from 62 to 64 is around $1500US difference in sold prices.

Maybe it looks better in hand? And all the scratches/marks are on the case...
Could also be a function of lighting and angle. Otherwise am surprised at the grade.
As presented, I would definitely not pay MS64 prices.

Too high. I would look to buy an alternative '48 MS-64 slabbed if I was in the market, and I was prepared to pay big money, and especially if I was considering to buy, using these pics.
You must learn to grade for yourself. Example pictured is a case in point.

However, don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. IMO, slab grading, in most cases, can still provide a reasonable guide but as we all know, slab grading, in a few cases, has to be taken with a grain of salt.

That is flipping awful grading! I'd eat the plastic if I had to pay up for that coin !
