Very interesting, I'd say it's a winner!

Flkas you mentioned that the O in of on the reverse has a flat spot on the bottom. I think over time hennings dies got worn. I actually have several nickels that the bottom of the O is flat as well as the bottom has a little cut mark similar to the loop in the R. It's not as large as the loop in the R but it does have very similar characteristics. Here is an image sorry not the best photo but you can clearly see what I'm talking about hopefully. Just Incase someone asks this is my 1939 looped-R with the die crack above the Monticello building

That is exactly what I am talking about. I have quite a mix of levels. In the more distinct examples, it is a 'bar' that goes across the near bottom of the O. I have some where you can see the gap between the bar and inside edge of the O. Another cool variety on the looped coins is what I call the theta variant. There is a line across the center of the 1st O in Monticello so that it looks like the Greek theta. In one of the 1953 photos you've posted, you can see it. I have it on a couple 44s and 39s. It sure would be nice if the non-loops has as many distinct variants.

Looks good from what little I've learned about them. (I love learning more.)

Just for reference, can anyone give the years in which Hennings have been found?
(Nickelcollector85 got me to wondering with their image of their 1939.)

Thanks Dearborn. Much appreciated.

I've seen multiple threads here about the Hennings, but thought a nice review of the known years would be helpful to folks.

While these are counterfeit, they seem to have value to collectors.

I think the site took out. By policy you can sell only legitim coins except is mention it is reproduction.

As example: 5 Cent Henning reproduction.

This is one of them contemporary counterfeits that almost all serious nickel collectors wanted to own, and even most curious ones would also like to hold one, that said what chances are there possibility of finding one in the wild these days?

Macmercury these are still being pulled from the wild actually. The owner of this one messaged me saying he was roll searching when he found this one.. in my personal collection I actually have a 1939 henning with the looped R and die crack on reverse that I found in a box of older nickel that was at a thrift store assume the owner had no idea that was in there. Best rare find I've ever had myself

Thanks Nickelcollector,

I look forward if ever I can get it in change, or in my kids piggy banks.
