How does one go about getting a coin 'slabbed' bearing in mind that I'm in the UK. What sort of cost is involved etc?

Nice large penny. I like it. S/H and grade estimate cost $100.00?

The only MS one in the completed auctions is a MS-63 brown PCGS that went for $725 Cdn ... but it wasn't an auction, it was a best offer. Personally, I think the cost of grading that coin would be worth it ... would love to see what ICCS would say.

From what replies I've had to several posts and from reading other peoples posts there appears to be a fair amount of difference between what we grade in the UK and the gradings from the US etc.
ICSS ?--Grading company?--I've just googled ICSS,quite amusing! best one was... The ICSS Website The International Carotid Stenting Study

LOL No, ICCS ... not ICSS But, ICCS doesn't have a website anyway ... a look at the CCCS website gives an idea of prices and such, but ICCS is the established grading company for Canadian coins.

This coin is a GEM! Probably one of the better I have see before. One sold at heritage a while back as MS 65 for $3450,00. I see no reason yours could not get Full red and a 64 MINIMUM!

snaz--LOL--a few more postings like that and I'll be a millionaire!!
On a serious note--what would be my best move with this item. I do realise as I'm sure you do, that sometimes the camera paints a better picture [can't believe that I've just typed that gibberish!] and that everyone has a differing opinion especially so when it comes to the condition of a coin so a professional appraisal would be of benefit----I suppose! How long does a grading take in turnaround time? Looks like I need a 'coin partner' in Canada!

I would say if this were my coin, I would have PCCS grade it: http://www.pcgs.com/This definitely a very high end coin, and folks who buy this type of coin are fairly knowledgeable. You could also have it cross graded by ICCS. If you want to sell it, then a good venue would be Heritage Coin: http://coins.ha.com/If this coin grades MS65 Red, then it could fetch in the area of $7,500 CDN (or about £4,150) before the 15% auctioneer fee is added. The final price of course would be determined by the grade and color rating of the coin, as well as the image of the coin as viewed by buyers.

No, don't think that. I am nearly 100% sure this coin is genuine, full red, and well.... 64 or better. Not a doubt in my mind. If you are looking to sell. For this one, I would steer clear of ebay and hit up HA.com Although I'm not sure if they do consignment for just one coin...

Please let us know what you did with, and how much you got for, this coin. I have a picture saved to my computer and I would love to know if you got it graded.

Haven't done anything yet --HA sounds like a good idea but I haven't been in touch with them yet.
Just seem so busy all the time--I'm sure that someone steals half the hours every day.
Grading would be a good move but that would have to be done 'over there' I presume as our UK gradings are way different from yours.
Prehaps someone will ''make me an offer I can't refuse'' if I offered it for auction on here!
