Let's keep it to the originals.

Originals are originals. Copies are not Morgans, - they are copies of Morgans, therefore a separate thread.

I guess I should've put a time limit on this. So, I'll leave it run till Sat. night, at that time which ever one is ahead is the standard we'll use.

heck with it - lets see all of them - we can then get a good overall comparison from originals and copies.

Consistently high-grade modern issues will only dilute the results - these are not collector coins.

Looks like "Only allow the original dates up to 1921" is running away with a solid majority as I write this.

You should redo this poll with only the top two choices. If other (non USA) Morgan's are eliminated I would vote in the USA moderns. The poll would likely be a toss up then I bet.

I voted originals...the rest is just bullion. To piggyback Coinfrog's sentiment, once you've seen one, you've seen them all.

I was strongly leaning towards the first choice anyways, but thinking we should also see all the interesting variants on the Morgan dollar (like the Daniel Carr fantasies), so I chose option 3 as to possibly include everyone. Though I agree with coinfrog and others on the modern issues not being collector coins, but bullion.

Pretty clear winner here! So, this Monday we start posting our Morgan dollars dated 1878 and progress till we end with the 1921s. Thanks for your participation in the poll, and in the upcoming "Days of" thread!!!

The 2021 and 2023 Morgan's aren't "REAL" Morgans. Because they're .999, not intended for circulation and have never been used to buy Whiskey in a bar or late night companionship in the wild west, they should be religated to the Modern Commem category.

Quote: You should redo this poll with only the top two choices... I see no need. Even if we added the 2nd and 3rd choices now, the 1st choice still has 51% of the vote. The people have spoken! This poll and topic are now closed. Enjoy the show! http://goccf.com/t/449719
