So the links are in the new locations on my cell phone, but they are still plain 'ole links, not the fancy colored radio buttons.

Quote: I've been getting several emails a week with "How do I (reply, start a topic, ask a question, etc)" for a while now so I'm guessing the text link kind of blended in. We'll see if this helps. Weirdly enough for me the new links are harder to read? I see the colored blotches but the text gets lost at first glance and initially I didn't even realize those were supposed to be buttons.

That's very surprising, I have bad eyes and they seem much clearer to me.

I wonder how much extra coding would it take to have the option for larger buttons? Maybe include an account option to specify size?
For me, I've new glasses and buttons look great.

They could be more legible if you didn't use the color gradient to black. They wouldn't look as "nice", though.

The bottom of the ovals look darker. I see you added the page count to the bottom,

Quote: I don't really understand, it is white on dark backgrounds. The colour starts at tops and gets darker (gradient) towards the bottom. This gives it the 3D effect (light source from above).

Personally, I have no trouble reading the buttons as they are now.

Mine are all dark though, there is no light background here. Dark maroon (#890000) and black, and dark blue (#000099) and black.

Yes, the gradient goes from the colour to black, not to light. When I hover over the buttons I can see the gradient reverse. Screen capture does not show the mouse pointer, but it is hovered over Send Link... To be clear, I was talking about a theoretical light source from above that causes a shadow on the bottom for a 3D effect. Hovering moves the light source to the bottom (shadow on the top).

That's correct, the hover CSS class reverses them so you know you're over the button.

For what it is worth, I like the effect. Subliminal reinforcement.

I was about to comment that the buttons are much more difficult to see (I have good eyes). The dark buttons and small white lettering make quick interpretation tough and the small pictures on those buttons less effective. Maybe larger lettering would help with a basic dark outline?
The formatting on mobile changed as well. Strangely formatted and not as intuitive.
But I am a stickler for change, so I'll end up getting used to whatever.
