with this much obverse scuffing and contact marks with a grade of MS62

No need for a details grade. A "details" designation is really for something that isn't from normal mint and circulation wear and tear, like damage (on purpose or accidental), cleaning, polishing, and artificial enhancement.

Clearly there are appealing aspects to the fields and the luster is super, but damages to the cheek and nose are severe. Grade aside, I doubt it would fetch 63 money.

Shallow scuff marks on Lib's cheek and eagle's breast feathers, that have disturbed the luster, are a bit unsightly.
MS-62.

I suspect it got a 63 due to great luster, TPG's love luster, but technically I'd agree with the crowd MS-62.

the 89(O) are mostly soft and weak. i'd say this one fits that. luster looks good but the eye appeal due to blotchy toning is on the lower end. the scuffs on the cheek and neck are pretty heavy and right in the sweet spot and the scratch in the left field really draws the eye there. some small marks and scuffs on the reverse fields

MS62. the luster may pull this up a tad

good photos

Hard pass for me.

Too distracting of marks, buy the coin, not the holder.

i'd call it a low end 63. high end 62. they probably went with the 63 due to the luster

Yep I can see the MS63 for luster and nice original surfaces, I'd pass to due to amount of and deepness of scuffs, hits on the main focal area of the coin. Still think that alone makes it an MS62+
