Although the images are a little hazy they are clear enough to see what you are referring to. I agree with John1. It didn't leave the mint that way since there isn't anything at the mint that could cause this. (A cent wouldn't fit into the striking chamber, aka collar die, for the dimes if that is what you were thinking.) Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
