I guess my MC tier doesn't qualify. I'm MC Silver, and can't see any Feb releases yet

MY BAD

MC Silver gets a 1-day advance, so I should be able to see releases tomorrow (Feb 5)

I was able to see my 1-day advance notice, so I put in my order. Only the 4-coin subscription for the "Wondrous Waters" this time around.
Now I have to watch my CC statement! On my order confirmation they charged me tax, where there should be no tax on 99.99 silver. The Mint rep I spoke to said to wait until they actually ship and charge my card to see if this 'glitch' clears up.

Actually the RCM do charge tax on 99.99 Pure Silver if you live in one of four provinces: BC,Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Quebec because they all have provincial taxes. The RCM charges Provincial sales taxes on all coins even if they are tax exempt. However, the RCM does not charge GST on .99 Pure silver coins no matter where you live in Canada.

A tip: If you don't want to pay taxes on coins buy from out of provinces dealers like Gatewest or CC&C.

QC is exempt on 99.99 silver also. Never been charged PST on anything that is labeled "NO GST/HST"

Learned this the hard way many years ago. Most of my ordering is from dealers in ON, MB, or BC. What I save in PST more than makes up for the shipping charge. For some strange reason dealers in AB (West Ed and SIL GO BU) insist on charging me PST on any taxable item, so I refrain from doing business with them.

Good news for Pysanka coin collectors!

Looks like the 2024 Pysanka coins will be released next week to MC members.

There are already a few on ebay.   It's a beauty!

Maybe not. Some of the listings show the Pysanka design only and some show the back of the coin only, but none show both front and back of the coin.

I believe King Charles will be on the coin because the Pysanka coin has been delayed from the usual February release so that he could appear on the coin.

I think, this year it should be real hit coin.

Change in colours - greenish and purple instead of traditional black-orange-red and change of obverse may cause many people want it.
Who knows, maybe the situation in Ukraine will also change this year.

So, the question is always, is it worth to be loaded or just grabbed few here and there.

I would only load up if king Charles is on the coin. Also beware of increases in mintage. Some of the ebay listings say 7500 mintage while others say 8500.

I'll be getting a dozen or so...6 for family and friends, and the rest for my collection.

This is one of my favourite designs. I like the new colours.

Just received March RCM brochure. The Queen is on the pysanka silver (8,500) and she is also on the gold (300). The silver and gold incuse coins, the queen as well. The Queen is on all issues for March in the brochure.

wonderous Waters subscription - Don't buy it for the 'Box'.

made of 'card-stock' but referred to on my invoice as 'This is Canada - Subscription box' is next to worthless IMHO.

'This is Canada - Subscription box'

But you have a great printed piece of thick paper to store the 4 coin boxes in!

I was as equally unimpressed with the subscription box too

If you turn the "box" to read the lettering on it, the coin boxes will fall out.
