With this picture, I think you were right as being 004. How does the mint mark position look? I don't know what that is on the southeast.

Looks like RPM-004 to me, mint mark position doesn't seem to match for -003. Can you post a clear close-up of the date with the mint mark?

That's cool. Now that I look at the positioning it doesn't appear that it could be RPM-003 and does look more like RPM-004. But there is no D/D/D for RPM-004 that I'm aware of

Mint mark position looks correct for -004. Maybe just debris on the southwest edge of the mint mark?

Definitely not debris. I can see the left bar of the third d going vertical and the top curve of the third d coming out on the northeast of the primary

The extra metal is too well-defined to have been part of the die originally. The rest of the MM is showing die wear, but that little piece shows almost no die wear. It could be a die gouge.

MM position confirms it's 004. Still don't know what the extra on the southeast.

Looks more like debris now. Did you or someone push on it to see if it would come loose? The toning is missing on the lower left part.
