Thanks for the article Mr. Diamond!!! John1 thanks for the link to the Ejection Impact Doubling. Now my next and last question is what shall I do with this coin? Is there any value to a collector?

I had heard of ejection impact doubling (in this case tripling?) but still don't quite understand how it happens. So is it sort of the same as bag marks, except the coin is banged against the die instead of other coins in the hopper (or wherever else)?

I guess that's one way to put it.

Yes, I did come to the right place!!! Thanks to John1 and his follow through on my replies and thanks to Mr. Diamond for engaging and clarifying for all what actually happened to this coin. I will say to any newcomer on this site don't always believe those first responses to a post. I had "reed mark" responses to start this post fortunately I knew enough that in this case that was not accurate. Yes, there are Reed Marks on the obverse side of coin, but that was not my question or in the photos in my post. Continue to ask questions and learn from all of these experts on this site. Read all of the reference material that they send on links to post and read other posts. John1, I will definitely get the coin in a 2x2. I had no takers on the value question, but maybe someday it will show up on ebay, unless someone has another suggestion. I am not a coin collector and I also have never sold anything on ebay. I just enjoy the hobby of looking through coins to find the unusual things that can happen to coins.

You might want to PM Mike and ask him what a good price might be. John1

I have not seen any correctly described ATB Quarters with ejection impact doubling sell on ebay or anywhere else. I suspect that their value is slight.
