Thanks for placing in right spot! Sorry still learning. And to answer your questions on where I "found" it....I work at a mom and pop gas station and found it in a penny roll from local bank!! I've been collecting before I started working there (3 months ago) but I've found few cool coins including this!! How much is it worth?

You could get as much as $1. I think it would have more of a sentimental value though. John1

I'm a newbie as well, though I started collecting as a child and recently got back into the hobby. The most fun is finding something in change or a roll. Second most is acquiring a coin you really, really like. You have plenty of opportunities to grab a coin from the 1800s for a reasonable cost... even a beautiful Morgan dollar. Have fun!!

Working someplace where money changes hands is always a great way to bolster one's collection. But I took it one step further--I go to my local Subway every day for lunch. I've become good friends with one of the women who works there, and I gave her a list of all the Washington quarters I need to fill in some holes. In two weeks, she found five of the coins I needed!

GirIInLove Congratulations on a great find! I'm a long time collector and worked at a gas station so long ago and had some of these finds. In the old days it was Morgan dollars. My high school friends would be driving the family car on a Sunday and raid the family coin jar to use the Morgan dollars to top off the gas tank. Coin collecting is not so much about you finding a valuable coin but more about the excitement of collecting and finding an interesting coin. I hope you continue posting with us.

I have a very small collection right now but I love it! I have also found 2 Buffalo nickles. I was absolutely shocked when I saw the first one in my drawer! 36 and had never seen one before! Had a customer pay with Kennedy half dollars AND a lot of my regular customers know I collect and have brought me coins! My customers are absolutely amazing!!! Thanks to everyone for your kind and supportive words! I'm so glad I found this site!!!
