Keep in mind, many of the people who are here to help have decades of viewing millions of coins. Their advice is valuable. That's why we ask them. That is why we respect their opinions and never call them names.

Yall are so quick to dismiss everything unusual. yall just like the letters PMD. There is no way some torch did double letters and a second nose. there is also no discoloration on the coin at all, how can this be explained. on the second stamp and 3rd u can see the lines from washingtons forehead indented into the second image. Maybe actually check out the pics, because if you did zoom in a little you would see it plain as day. so what made raised lines in the exact shape of the edge of his face, what made the 2 extra Os or the doubling in all the state letters. why does the blank spot have forehead lines in it and how is that made PMD as yall say And stop being so sensitive

It is actually a genuine error. It was struck through a very thin, multi-struck metal layer. These generate correctly-facing incuse design elements, which is what is seen on his coin.

Thanks for the update Mike. Hopefully the OP still has the coin.

I avoided this thread for a reason. It is nice to hear M. Diamond's opinion on it. Locking the thread was a good idea because of the negative approach that the Orig. Poster took towards people here, simply trying to help.

The new pictures from today are 100% better in quality. If these were posted in the OP, there would have been a lot more and better responses.

How does the coin have reeds but is out of round? It sure looks like it took a hit towards the bulged spot.

If Mike is correct, I still would think PMD if I came across a coin like that. John1

Only one of the photos makes it appear that the coin is out-of-round. Since the other full-coin photos show a normal circular outline, I would think the one lopsided image is some kind of photographic illusion.

Ok, I still disagree though. I still think it's glue but he's refused to give it an acetone bath and stuck with his attitude.

With that last photo above, I'm seeing out-of-round.

The images could be better but I'm convinced this is most probably just clear drying glue. Better images before I crawl out on the limb. Try soaking in acetone and see it it comes off. Try for some clearer shots. Bigger is not better - we need clearer shots than these.

If it was an impression in glue, then the extra images would be incuse and mirror-image. Instead, the extra images are incuse and correctly-facing. Also, the image you included with your post appears to be a squeeze job, not a glue job.
