according to PCGS there are 9 obv dies for the 2-leaf variety. I compared all 9 to yours and there is no match. star 1 is not in any known position as is star 15.. the reverse is not even close. I think you have a fake here.

Are you looking at flowing hair dollars?

It looks to me like an exact match to the flowing hair half dollar O-113, as @adam126402 noted. I think it's authentic, although I would certainly make sure the size and weight are correct.

flowing hair however, I don't do overton. all I checked were the PCGS varieties listed. if you found a match then i'll defer. however at the rarity of this coin, I would never consider a raw buy without some very specific conditions that it would slab authentic.

When I went to the PCGS site and selected Flowing Hair half dollar, it kept taking me to One Dollar flowing hair. I ended up going to NGCs site which seemed to match with O-113.

Thanks everyone for your great educated help. This coin is in an online estate auction near me. Current high bid is $120 with about 24 hours left. I can't view the coin in person but this might be a chance to get a nice coin cheap.

Details and design are appropriate for the variety despite the color appearing unusual. AMBPR has this listed at an R-4 and most of the comps are details coins.

As is, it is worth around $1,600 considering the scratches. Good luck, you could probably score it for a good price!

You guys were correct on the half dollar; with buyer's fee it went for $1670. My top bid was $1300. Thanks again for everybody's help.
