Well, that is definitely a closeup! Really looks like MD now.....but doubled?

Perfect close-up. That definitely looks like MD to me (well machine tripling technically). It still has the intrinsic value of the silver though even if not an error.

Flat shelf is what defines Machine Doubling.

Could this be an example of both types of doubling? I keep focusing on the very bottom of the 'D' mintmark in that last photograph. That's not a shelf; looks rounded. just saying...

In the least it is good uploading practice for me.

On the machine doubled shelf edge side, it looks like 4 imprints not just 3 as first thought. If it didn't have that machine doubled material on the top and left it would look like a die doubled mintmark...to me anyways.
