I'd say XF-40. Curious why the grade isn't on the label. When you post the grade, can you show us the slab, too?

https://www.pcgs.com/cert/37708658Will somebody explain how the TPG made a decision that this coin was cleaned? Is there something that they can see in hand that a picture would not depict? Has anyone ever resubmitted a coin that was incorrectly categorized as being cleaned: and been successful? Are the probabilities low for this example that they would change their mind on the cleaning categorization?

This coin is a VF 30 in my opinion when looking at in person. The color of the coin, however, is significantly lighter and doesn't have the brown tone that the PCGS photo displays.

The true lighter colors of the coin came out when I took the photo outdoors instead of doing so in the basement with a 5000 K bulb:

I still cannot understand the reasoning of leaving the grade off of the slab:

Well that's a major disappointment.

And finally, the last photo shows the reason for the details. I personally would have said scratch or graffiti instead of cleaning. But the end result is the same no matter what. The slightly off brownish tint on the PCGS photo shouldn't have any bearing whatsoever on the grade in my opinion.

The thing about photos is you cannot twirl the coin around under a lamp. Despite the crustiness, but assessing the even color and other technical qualities, I bet if it was studied closely in hand one could point out cleaning hairlines covering both sides of the coin. Quote: I still cannot understand the reasoning of leaving the grade off of the slab: There is a grading tier option if you only want a simple "genuine" instead of flaunting the issues on the front label. You rarely see it used.

If studied closely and there are no hairlines at all, then congrats, you cherrypicked a TPG error. That's how some people make their living in the coin business.
