GiL, why not let us in on your method? Some people do have trouble posting good photos. You never know who you might be helping!

I don't think coinfrog likes me very much..... ehhh oh well.

I have a black stove so I pick a spot with decent lighting and set coin down....I get a box, but not a big one, think I use the one my little blender came in and set it on counter to set phone on with lense hanging over to see coin. Keeps phone steady. Take the pic then crop it in google photos. Hope that made sense. Hope it can help at least 1 person.

I don't want to weigh in on this silly fracas too much but it seems to me to be merely a generational misunderstanding. All of us have likely posted impulsive or dumb stuff on some forum or another that we later regretted. No harm intended = no foul. Or as Taylor would say, just "shake it off."

I realize I am giving away my age here, but I was around when these 'steelies' were circulating. My kid bro and I had an informal contest going to see who could gather up the most. Thanks to help from grandparents, he managed nearly to fill an entire Roi-Tan cigar box with these oddball cents. Then one bright warm spring day, on a ridiculous childhood dare, he dumped the entire boxful out the second story window into mom's flower garden, upsetting both parents to no end. It took the rest of the summer 'magnet fishing' to retrieve them, and I am sure we missed a bunch.

I do apologize, mysilveryears, if this thread seems nothing but a waste of time to some of you. There is a solution to that..... pretty easy as well... don't read them? That came off as rude not my intention. I hope you do stick around tho and thanks for sharing that story! I do wonder how many coins were left behind! That's crazy!

Coinfrog.....I do apologize for my earlier comments where I was, well, incredibly rude to you. Just remember, what goes around, comes around. I didn't join Coin Community to go around bashing people and in my defense other ppl on here thought what you were saying was just flat out uncalled for. I'm sorry I don't have the knowledge you do when it comes to coins. Don't berate me, teach me! Call it a truce? Start over? You have a website yes? I would love to check it out sometime if that's alright with you.
Hi Coinfrog, I'm Girlinlove. Pleased to meet you!

No apology necessary, m'dear. I was not criticizing you; just looking for a simple explanation as to why that episode happened.
Every coin enthusiast should be welcomed and made to feel at home in this forum, unless they choose to break the rules that protect us all from scams and so forth.
I am glad you enjoyed the dumping story. Kids do the silliest things without thinking twice.
I hope sincerely that your interactions here will have a net positive effect; that you will branch out beyond pennies in your enjoyment of this very diverse hobby, and choose to stick around and share the progress of your new involvement.

I most certainly plan on sticking around. I started late with the whole coin thing and sometimes feel pretty dumb not having picked certain things up but I know it's a learning process and takes time. Patience is virtue and unfortunately I'm not very patient...lol

Girlinlove - No apologies necessary. I have a somewhat acerbic personality and I've offended most everyone on the forum over the years, I'm sure. Eventually you'll get used to me.

Ya know I was the same way for a loooong time. I was angry and upset and bitter and felt like most of my life had been taken from me...and it was from age 19-36 (earlier this year) then I left my husband. And I started to live and enjoy life again and there is no greater feeling than having control over your own life. I used to never speak my mind around him in fear of getting hit and now it comes pouring out without that fear and then of course I realize maybe I shouldn't have said what I said. Oops my bad. Lol we shall have a sparky contest! CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!! HAHAHA just kidding! Unless....
It's nice to have a place to go where I know ppl geek out just as much as I do about coins. Ppl in the real world don't get it!
