Well I'll be darn. My 1981 mint set has both the S and the D Suan B. Anthony. I've looked at it a dozen times and never noticed it. Thanks everybody.

Do not Believe that 'AI' stuff - it will create an answer to what ever you are asking.
Seeing how the mint created 3 sets in 1981, a 'P' business strike, a 'D' Business Strike, and a 'S' PROOF strike, they decided to place the ONLY business strike 'S' coin in the Denver set to ensure it was included.
It is NOT an error, it is an 'On Purpose'

AI is still too new to be effective. There is too much disinformation out there and the algorithms cannot handle that.

AI may be great in controlling Nuclear weapons - but it is terrible at diagnosing coins.

Is there a reason San Fransisco Susan B. Anthony was added to the Denver Mint set?

The US mint never sold "Denver Mint Sets" they sold "Mint Sets" which contained one each of all of the business strikes produced that year. They are usually packaged grouping each mint together, however because each mint dosn't produce the exact same number of coins there is some crossover in package Stop learning from AI responses or you will wind up eating rocks. https://www.livescience.com/technol...chlorine-gas
