It is a legit straight clip with ragged edge.

Someone did this with a soldering iron and a hammer. No doubt about it. That's not blakesly-ing. That's flattening. You can't even see it on the reverse.

Well, I very doubt a soldering iron - I've been involved in ferrous and non ferrous foundries for over 30 years and know that a copper penny melts at approximately 1,981°F (1,083°C),

Cujohn, you'd be surprised how far inland some straight clips can go. In general the edge of a ragged clip is a bit unstable, and prone to doing funky stuff.

I looked back at some of my straight ragged clips. Never noticed that they do have more missing devises that a regular clip. Thanks for pointing that out.
