I agree as well. Looks like a scratch. Still, nice to find a 100+ year old cent.

A scratch is what I thought at first but a scratch doesn't go all the way through the coin like this one does. Also the crack is to thin to be sliced by anything I know of. Only thing I can think of is weak material and a pressure crack from the dies.

I have to agree with others on this being PMD scratch/gouge anything.
You would need to post much better photos to see anything more than that.

Please post a photo of the coin placed in front of a mirror. With the first two photos posted, I don't believe that feature on the obverse and reverse are aligned.--meaning the 'crack' doesn't pass through the coin.

Sorry I haven't gotten a decent Pic of it in the mirror but here a couple more. I've looked a hundred times and the cuts on both sides match perfectly, I'll look up a local coin dealer and get it checked out thanks.
