To CCF! I agree with nfine. Looks plated/polished. It's a heavily damaged Business strike coin.
Errers and Varietys.

to CCF. appears to have been plated to look like a proof coin.

Cool but I live in Wisconsin I doubt my Dead Aunty had it polished just to throw it in her Coin collection to mess with who ever ended up with it. It might be worth the effort to have it further looked at. TY FOR THE replys and I need a better camera thats not a potatoe and post a better pic that one doesn't do it justice.

A look at the edge may indicate whether its plated or not.

Quote: I doubt my Dead Aunty had it polished just to throw it in her Coin collection to mess with who ever ended up with it I agree, I'm sure she didn't do that. The life of a coin in circulation is usually a mystery before it finds itself in your hands. There's no way of telling who had it, or how many different people had it or what anyone may have done to it along the way. Good luck figuring out the mystery.

I agree it looks plated (highly polished). Look for the copper strip in the center of the reeds along the edge like Seeker101 suggested. If you see it, it's probably not plated.
