My word, the mint and their shipping/retail company pitney-bowes is totally incompetent. I was looking at my lp2 track order and noticed that my proof set was has been processed and shipped and says that it was shipped on 5/4/2009. But my card has not been charged yet. Their tracking/shipping system is totally useless and seems to randomly pick dates and order status.
Just like with the lp2's the ship date seems to change daily without any rhym or reason. If we realistically won't receive them unitl Christmas, then fine, tell me that, but to constantly change the dates to the point where I have no idea what to expect really makes me mad.
This is why monopolies are illegal...but of course doesn't apply to the gov.

The MINT has to get a new shipping company as the one they have now stinks! Why should it take till July to get coins that were to have been made by May 14th That shipping company as I have been saying just keeps getting worse and worse. I just saw an article in Coin World that said they were cleaning up there shipping process to speed things up and stop back orders what a joke that is. |

Yes just checked both orders I placed both say 7/15 that stinks we order these the 1st day something that is to be there and two months.
I think they have not even made these special sets yet they wait to get an idea of how many they will sell.
Sure seems like it otherwise why would it take two months to process something that is sitting there?

So are you back ordered like not getting them or back ordered will get them.
I have ordered 5 sets, but my date is 6/29/2009. Yet my order time is after yours by around 2 hours as my internet to their website sucked it up.
Did you get an email changing the order date?
I am worried now.

when I go to the mint website it does not say sold out  am I missing something? |

I received no email saying my delivery date was changed. I looked at my account on the mints web site and saw they changed the expected delivery date.

They are overwhelmed and non-effiecient.....no surprises here. They had they exact same issues with the LP1 and they will have the exact same issues with the LP3 and the LP4.
If there were zero hype and low to avereage sales for any particular item......then "that's" the zone they could operate in and be more timely.
They are supposed to be "laying off" people and cutting mintage numbers of coins.......so "service" will still not improve !

Ok mine is been moving back to 7/15 as well.
The mint website now doesn't say anything about being sold out. So was it sold out yesterday or not?
This is nuts! This has to be one of the worse consumer service events ever.

I saw the sold out message posted above yesterday but today it is gone.

I have never seen that sold out message at the mint website, I checked yesterday and it said scheduled ship date 6/2, today it says ship date 7/15. It appears the mint website is as accurate as there shipping company. We aren't going to know when these ship until after we receive them.  |

Last time I got mine about two weeks before the new ones went on sale.....I'm not led to believe this will change !
