I'd love to start collecting some gold, but the cash outlay is a barrier. The more I'm seeing these 7070s, the more I'm tempted to go out and start buying the contents. As was discussed in another post yesterday, I'm going to focus on completing what I have before I move onto bigger ventures like the 7070.

Brian, you must have forgotten me. We have a whole history of posts and threads about the 7070. It has been completed for over four years, but I have been upgrading it since then. The gold page was last for me. I am interested in seeing a picture of your AU Classic Head Cent. That cost more than my most expensive gold coin I am sure.

That is one nice Page! Does the newest 7070 have a hole for the 2009 St Gaudens?

well in about 3 months I will gladly take a picture of that thing. That is if it meets my standards and I don't send it back which I usually am pleasantly surprised with HJB because they grade pretty closely to my own grading unlike Jakes Market Place where I was definitely disappointed in a Seated Liberty quarter they had graded as MS-63 (I grade it as AU and so did the forum) but it was a gift so I couldn't send it back (could have but the gift meant more than the coin anyway so it was a win win even though I am sure they overpaid for the coin, I just didn't have the heart to tell them that)

"Does the newest 7070 have a hole for the 2009 St Gaudens?" Mountain, the old 7070 I have is supposed to be 19th and 20th century coins. There is not a slot for the new Saint. I haven't seen the updated 7070 so I don't know if they included the 21st century coins. Man that would be expensive as it would include the Buffalo, Liberty and all the fractional sizes, as well as the newest UHR. Does anyone know what is in the new 7070?

Quote: Does anyone know what is in the new 7070? I think the new 7070 is just the updated Bicentennial page as far as I know. Edit: I just looked and my double eagles were also graded MS-62 (one from PCGS and one from NGC) and if I am not mistaken they came from HJB also (or atleast one did)

Way to go Okie! That's a huge accomplishment Are all of these BU? They are nicer than mine, as most of my gold coins are in the AU range. Quote: Does the newest 7070 have a hole for the 2009 St Gaudens? Personally, I think the Dansco is short on the gold type coins. Fortunately there is lots of room on that page to make your own holeds. All of the other type coins in the album go back at least to the 1830s, so why not the gold page? Anyways, here's what mine currently looks like:

I seriously doubt that any version of the 7070 will ever have a slot for the 2009 UHR since that coin is thicker than the album pages

Johnny, is that a half ounce platinum coin I see on your gold page?

Nope. That is an 1986 proof commemorative $5 quarter ounce gold. I mean, they have spaces for half dollar commemoratives, silver dollar commemoratives; why not $5 gold commemoratives? :-)

Sweet, I'm picking up my type gold page today! I won't settle for a common date $20 coin though, so it's going to be a tough one to finish...
