I am no expert but it looks fake to me. But why would anyone fake a penny when a penny is not worth anything. Even in 2004 it was not worth anything. May be someone got creative at the mint and tried to fix a die or something. I don't know. I was looking at the reverse side for problems also. Under high magnification sometimes you can see Lincoln sitting in the chair. Might be worth a look.

Big ole' hit @ his nose...but that upper cheek bone area.. Could it have blistered from a heat source being applied to the reverse? But then why is the entire reverse not affected ....if that is darkening from heat ?

Why would his face look like that but his coat looks ok. If it was caught in a washing machine or dryer I would think it would be beat up all around both sides. But this is just his face. Almost like it was intentional. There is a big chunk missing under his eye. Also why are there so many scratches the same direction in the background? Like a grinder was used. Usually this is almost smooth. There a lot of smart people here I am sure it will all be figured out.

The close up photos of the obverse look over edited making the actual details of the coin over exposed - almost cartoon like. The reverse picture looks normal.

The obverse images are really bad. Please take the time to actually look at your images before you upload them

I'm just seeing lots of plating issues that seem to be lining up with what appears to be roller lines.

If this is a cell phone picture it may not be the best camera to use close up. If you don't have a good actual camera with a zoom lens for close in shots like for flowers may be you could borrow one from a friend for these pictures. Also I have found that dark backgrounds that do not reflect helps to have a better picture. If there is a reflective surface in the back ground a good camera will see this and will be hard to auto focus giving a blurry picture even though it is close up and looks good in the view finder. I have just bought a special table top camera from Amazon that is designed to take high resolution pictures of coins and down load to my computer. I hope to get better pictures with it. It was not expensive.

It's not fake and the surface has not been ground.
The only thing strange is poor plating and possible
plating bubble on the cheek. Nothing too unusual.
Every little anomoly is not an error especially on zincoins.

One thing for sure is that without better pictures it is hard to tell much of anything. I hope better pictures will become available.

Two things wrong here:
1- plating issues common with most zincolns (obverse) stained (reverse)
2- way over pixelated photos.
3- time to move on...
