As far as I can tell, the Cud looks legit to me, though.... the pic is quite small. Any chance of a reverse pic? |

As mentioned on one of your previous posts, study the minting process, read up on what an actual error is, learn the difference between an error and a variety. This looks legit. I've seen many overgraded PCI coins, but -- so far -- no counterfeits in PCI slabs. I played with the image exposure and warmth a bit, and was able to get a decent look at the surface and details. If this is a counterfeit, they did something I've never seen on a 1940s Lincoln counterfeit: they got the 4s in the date correct. Both of the very different fours, in this case. I don't see any listed 1944-D obverse Cuds or pre-cuds. There is one listed reverse Cud. This could be a new listing, and a nice one. |

The Cud looks genuine. The reverse should show a featureless pucker. Error coin writer and researcher.
