Hello again, everyone! After giving it a little time on ebay at $1Million and getting 70 views in less than 3 days, I'm wondering if anyone here has an idea how much I should insure it for, to ship to John Wiles?

Now, you all wanna know how I got the Kennedy half dollar? I proudly say that, I believe this is a historical find and a Classic story to go with the 1982D Small Date Copper Penny! I bought a pack of basketball cards in 1991, opened the pack, didn't get a Jordan so I sold the opened $1 pack to some older gentlemen at the flee market for that .50˘ piece. That older man gave me a wink along with Kennedy as a trade and that lead me to looking at my childhood collection after my Dad passed away last year... I'm 45 now and had this coin for 35 years. That explains the condition it's in. Because it's been out of circulation for that long...

Please insure it for $1M and lets move on................ You have received multiple experts opinion since start of this topic and have repeatedly rejected all .I'm afraid your coin is worth the face value $.50 and not enough to retire upon......

I've also had plenty of other experts that has also seen much clearer pictures of the coin and they say to send it in. I don't know if you guys can get a good enough idea with the pictures that's been shared here. I'm shipping it to John soon.
Edit: I'd also like it to be known that I'm not expecting $1Million! I came here with a question of what would the 1st Triple Die Reverse be worth but of course the more the better! Also, I've done plenty of homework on it as you can tell. I've been on Facebook and had several experts (I've known for over a year) and quite a few, said to send it in. If I'm right, great! If not, I believe it's at worst, a New Variety and I'll be glad to update the group when I hear back from Mr Wiles. Hopefully next week!

Haven't heard back yet, thinking about emailing Dr Wiles to follow up tomorrow... Would that be a good idea or should I keep checking the mailbox?

I should have the Kennedy half back in hand tomorrow before noon and I'll update this post. I'll also add that I'm hoping for the best but prepared to hear MD, as well. I'm looking forward to finding out for sure though because I haven't seen another coin look like this one... Besides a DD... Either way we'll know for sure tomorrow! Thanks again for everyone's help and input regarding this matter!

Welp... You guys were right! Dr Wiles said it's Machine Damage Doubling. So it's not an Error or a New Variety... I've been told learning Doubled Dies is a hard lesson and it holds true!

Always use Occam's Razor. When you hear hoofbeats, think horses - not zebras.

Thank you for getting back to us with the results. It's unfortunate that it was Machine Doubling, but you're still learning the different types of doubling. Don't give up and keep learning here on CCF. You'll eventually be able to differentiate genuine Doubled Dies apart from different worthless types of doubling.

For sure, I will. Thank you! I've learned a lot over the past 1 and a half and best of all, one day I'll be able to pass what I learned onto the next generation!
