get a bucket throw them in there and move on then send all the 72's to me oh yea at least try and sell them here if you want to get rid of them. or if you live in northern north carolina dump them at my pickup bankyou have to look at it this way, f you sell them for 2 cents each thats 1 cent you did not have before and its 100% profit. nothing else I know of pays that good.

With my dad being an electrician I am very firmiliar with the scrap metal market. I would highly recommend watching gas prices, copper fluctuates with gas prices. Its pretty weird really because if gas goes up you can bet copper is going up. But gas is relatively cheap right now so copper is too about 1.90$ a pound. But when gas goes back up to 4$+ a gallon copper is right around the 3$ a pound mark. Hope this helps.

When melting them becomes legal, I shudder to think about all the 1943 copper cents that will be melted.

Wouldn't it be better to buy something with those copper cents and enjoy that.

If you have $400 in copper and are waiting 25 years until they double in value
just change them now and get $400 worth of gold imagine the value of that in 25 years.

Are you that sure that gold will tracker higher than copper in 25 years? For only $400 I would dump it into an industrial metal (say Cu, Ni, Ag, Pd Pt) because right after this recession passes, there should be a massive boom in construction, etc

Gold is just anti-inflationary, with not much other uses. You might argue that massive inflation's going to hit, but wouldn't that also increase the demand of anything tangible?

The 43 copper has been publicized so heavily for years I think the likelyhood of one being in the wild is very, very slim!

True that why I said it would better to spend it now on faster investment or just for daily use.
I'm always reminded of stories like "The Eleventh Hour Can't Last Forever", where an obsession with "real valuables" ruins lives.
I've yet to hear anyone hoarding coins who changed them for metal value and lived a fulfilling life.

All that said I really want a copper bar, but I want to make it myself so yes I'm hoarding coppers from all countries.

hmm... That's true too. I'm just being very friendly right now to silver and other industrial metals because even though the recession isn't quite over yet, there appears to be more money on the market.

What is that you say, a copper bar? If you don't have the money, get a few rolls of copper cents and laminate them into one of those paper weight things

No one standard oz (28.35 gram) copper bars. Copper isn't marketed with the troy weight system.
