These are the six I own. Same as some of the Canada notes shown above but some others too. I love the Australian note with the ship. Is that one of the first polymers used. I really want to get one. The first two of mine are from Romania, all others from canada.

I'm in mozambique right now and they have polymer too... I'll keep a 20 metcais note. Some are really beaten up I wonder if someone will accept it. I think up to 100 metcais they have polymer.

Yes you're quite right augsburger. 20, 50 and 100 in polymer for the 2011 issues. Higher denominations in paper.

Do all notes feature Samora Moisés Machel? Or are the previous issues still in circulation?

Yes they all feature the first president and I'm only getting the 2011 notes do I assume they are the only ones (like the coins, all from 2006).... Though they have some nice animals on the other side. I took some bad photos but figuring out how to upload these bad photos (because the notes don't sit flat but are bent and stay at more than 90 degrees angles I had to hold them down) with this really bad internet that's not on during daylight hours......

to Banjo
Your 1988 Australian polymer would sell for around $25 to $30.
It is a great design - one of my favourite notes.

It might have started life as $5, but now looks to be only worth about $3.50
