hmmmm... In this forum, tell me one person who would lie! Lie about profile, maybe a few, who aren't bothered to change, but I like FYI's idea.

The people we are trying to protect from are_not from this forum. At least, I don't think so, because there's absolutely no way of knowing what's in a person's heart from what they type.

Hi Kid
I will let you answer your own question.
at the top of the page click on the members tag,, scroll down through the pages,,
You will find any number of members who have made 0 posts, I cannot tell you anything about these members , I do not know them even a little bit .
Now I'm not telling you that any of them are bad people, but neither you nor I can tell if they are good people either .
As for the consistent posters, I can tell you that I trust each one, and I believe that they have the best interest of the forum in their hearts.
You tell me the answer to your question .
Rick

I'm beginning to reconsider my vote Rick. You definetly have good points.I don't trust the dealer I buy my coins from to well myself. But with the guidance and education I receive from the people on this forum,I can take that with me and trust the judgement I make in buying a coin.If I'm leary I know there is someone here for reassurance.Ibelieve the people who post do have the best interest in their hearts too,why else would they offer to help.I prefer to buy and sell from the posters here, before I would anywhere else.Thank you all.sn31.

By the way,if this does come to giving the kids their own forum.I think they should have permission from their parents. As it also their job to moderate what their children are doing, and who their talking too.

How do we know who the parents are, if we can't trust the identification of the child?

I Got It! dont give YN's Access to the email function, this allows for no private comunication between anybody who ever calls themself a YN, and set the amount of post to 250. this way any inapropriat contacts will be veiwable to all and the poster can be banned.

I don't know how I feel about having our YN's cut off from email. We have a number of excellent members who could communicate that way and it is the best way for trades/swaps. I don't want our YN's to miss out on that. It has been my experience that our Admins and Moderators have very good people instincts. Perhaps admission to the section would have to be governed by a unanimous vote of the staff....? My other concern is that I don't want to lose our YN's to this section, meaning that I still want you all posting in the other sections of the forum. Many of you have knowledge to share and your questions help others.

If this is what we're trying to achieve by having a separate section for YN, why not have things as it is and YN can PM other YN regarding questions that they would not be comfortable in posting on the regular forum for adults to see. Here we're differentiating YN by age where as there are new collectors that are young to collecting and they maybe facing same problems as some of the YN does. I'm new to collecting and there are YN in this forum that has a great deal of knowledge that should be shared with mature and new collectors. There were times that I wasn't comfortable in posting some questions that I thought would be 'stupid' and I would PM some members that I thought might help me out. And it has always worked out.

without wax, FYI
FYI I did take that to offence and by saying that makes people look at you like you think that you are btter than everyone else by calling my post imature because you cant call anyone imature and say "no offence" because thats plain rudeness

Hey Kids, what about just posting anywhere you like! Start a kids thread with no special forum and go ahead and mis-spell to your hearts delight. Is the idea to have no adult post on your forum or add their view? If so say "Kids Only" in the title. Anyone could have a peak and everyone could be a moderator. Or is the idea that a kids section would discuss issues others may not be interested in? I often skip reading topics if the title doesn't interest me. The only danger there is with the internet is if you get involved with a shady character who is after your money or worse, wanting your address. This danger exists everywhere on the internet. All kids (and adults) should be aware of the danger and be very careful.

there must be some way to avoid inapropriat contact in emails. maby the emails to and from yns could be moderated somehow, or kept on-record.

Knowledge is power and for YN's to have a seperate area kind of sets them up as prey. Protection is usually associated with public areas with the hopes that someone knowledgable will speak-up.
