OK, you've convinced me. "Methinks he doth protest too much." (with apologies to Shakespeare and Hamlet for the misquote). Now I gotta see it for myself.

Give ya a hundred bucks for it, shipping not included. Or do you want me to come over and pick it up? If nothing else, it would look great in my Morgan curio collection because it's so unusual.

Why is this a "Morgan" dollar?

Excuse ignorance - just know about Aussie coins(sorta); and then only pre-decimal. That's why curious how Morgan dollar so named.

To make matters even worse(?), once owned exact same 1888 coin as shown, but alas stolen along with wallet where was kept for "good luck" years ago .. So much for good luck!

Anyhow, sure is handsome looking and easy see why is favourite collector coin.

Cheers

George T. Morgan was the designer of this beauty. The initial M is found at the neck, and on the left hand loop of the ribbon on the reverse.

Dunno 'bout the Hero bit. I have an ex-wife who would dispute this... viciously.

Everything is for sale. We're just haggling over the price. What'll ya do if I come over an dangle a Ben Franklin in front of you? [:0]
