I wish you good luck my friend! You never know about ebay things until you hold them in your hand. I did however, purchase a few things off of ebay in the past some turned out okay, others not so good. I took the picture off of ebay and pasted it to a software page that I have to Blew it up. It appears to me that you can see through those holes (21 and 21 D.) showing a silhouette of a person and the green grass/pickup truck behind the page. It looks to me like there is some type of white felt backing that has lite imprints on it of walking liberties as if to show the collector where the coin would go. I hope my eyes are deceiving me and you get a great deal! It is a very tricky photo and what scares me for you is that disclaimer of not being a coin collector and knowing nothing about coins. Seems like it's kind of a get out of jail free statement. Good luck and please keep us posted.

i always look for non-dealer listings to find a deal. this one looked like a non-dealer, maybe he didn't know what he had. good luck.

Make a hundred here...lose a hundred there on a bad gamble. It all works out in the end. I started back into coins about a year ago, selling a collection that was consigned to me. I ended up making about 700 dollars on the deal. Without going into too much detail, I can say that I've done well more times than I've done poorly....though this time I think I'll probably need a band-aid.

like I always say things have a funny way of working out. Until they are throwing dirt on my face because I'm in the bottom of a hole I think I'm doing pretty good! Hey, it's good to be a great new year!

The No Returns Accepted should be the answer to your question.

Not necessarily so. I do quite well selling on ebay and DO NOT accept returns of raw coins. It's too easy for folks to swap out coins and send back to you something less than you sent them. At worst...I lose about 75 bucks on this deal. I'll make it back on the next one. Chancellor Sutler

I hope it works out for you. The one thing I did notice was that the seller does not state anywhere a word about dates. He only promises that they are Walking Liberty half dollars and that there are 37 of them. We are assuming they are put in the proper holes in the album. But if he ends up sending you 37 coins all dated 1943 he'd still be living up to his end of the bargain as presented. On the other hand, if even a single key or semi key date is included would make this a break even deal at least.

The wear on the page one coins that are present...is typical of the early ones, so I've less concern about that. Most people aren't going to invest 20 plus dollars in a Dansco album and place the coins with no regard to date. That's why they make those little plastic tubes.

The seller had excellent feedback. You paid $9.50 per coin so even worse case scenario you should at least break even assuming a few coins grade at vf or better. If you get a really rare or nice coin you stole it. Some of my greatest internet buys were on poorly worded listings with lousy photographs. I would have gambled.... Sincerely, John Leckrone

There are a few decent coins, but most of these were just uninspiring....enough that I took them out of the album and stuffed them into the little plastic tubes. Not one of my better buys. I've made some humdingers though, so every once in awhile I can afford a minor stumble.

I think you did very well regardless of whether the picture is accurate or not! It's still a pretty good buy and let's face it, they are not getting any cheaper! so we are watching for pictures or info.

Don't worry about the "no returns." Ebay/PayPal have made it difficult for sellers to deal with dishonest buyers, so that isn't a warning light by itself. I'm shocked that guy didn't bother to take more photos. Photos add like 14 cents to the cost of his listing. When dealing with albums from 20-30 years ago, I find myself wondering, "Did they just plug in another coin there, maybe a nice one they didn't have a slot for? At least it will be a real coin." In the next 10 years, I will be asking, "Did they buy fakes off of ebay to fill in the plugs?" There won't be any intentional fraud, just a guy making his collection look nice while he kept building it, and his kids/grandkids had no idea.
