A bank I hit a week or so back, said they had three Ike's if I was interested......I was ! (scored nothing on their halves though....and the Ike's were really beat up....but oh well !)

And, while getting a coffee/donuts the other day....I noticed a bunch of Sac's in the cash register. So I bought about 8 Sacs and some obsolete President Dollars.....(my Nephew has some missing ! )
Only one or two of the Sac's were really worth keeping.....most were really beat up......but.......might fill a hole for now until I can upgrade em'.

You know that there is no such thing as a bad Eisenhower dollar, right? I am glad you saved them from whatever fate awaited them!

Kind of odd to see a series that has only been out for three year being called obsolete.

I think it might be a commentary on their current relevance. Not that I agree with it.

I thought that might "get somebody" !....
It's a "borrowed" term that someone else used on CCF recently, when referencing Presidential dollars that have come out and been gone now from "recent release".
But yeah....certainly isn't meant to be a "textbook definition" of the first few Presidential dollars that came out....

I love the Presidential dollar coins... I really wish they would circulate more... they are PERFECT for vending machines.

I got many SBAs from the banks, but nerve found IKE.

I received 250 Washington coins from the US Mint today. I opened 4 rolls to check something unusual, but found nothing. I will give these coins to my boys for the purchase of toys. (They need to perform well to receive a coin.) I am waiting for my Thomas Jefferson.

Actually got three more Ikes and eight more SBAs on the way home today. No luck with halves, but one teller had 66 $2 bills (I rifled through them but didn't buy anything). Never though I'd find an Ike in the wild let alone twice in a row.

At the end of last summer, I bought $120 in Ikes from my bank. I sold them the next day at my garage sale for about $140.

Try grocery store customer service. No silver so far, but lots of SBAs!

H'mmm. If anyone wants ikes let me know. The banks around here have
tons of them. I used to pick up a few but don't bother anymore. I found a few S's and kept those.

I've got some nice Proofs...Sets.....and a few average condition silvers.....and a nice batch of regular circulated Ike's..... My "Ike collection" is good enough for me for now.
The only way I would go after more of them nowadays, is if I got some for "even money" (which I did recently ! ..)...or a really good deal on some Silver Proofs....or Sets.
Gotta be picky and choosy these days !

And sorry JB......but I've not gotten around to putting together an Ike album yet !......someday soon though ! ...

I wonder why the 1990 S Prestige Set with the Eisenhower dollar never did well ? ...
Only 506,126 Minted.....but just not very popular or very valuable. In fact....issue price was $45.00.......Redbook '08 lists current value at only $28.00 ....
Shame.......

I think that most of the Prestige Sets were way over-priced from the mint when you compare buying the regular proof set and commemorative(s) separately. The fancy case was nice, but not that nice! The Prestige Proof Sets that I have were gifts from my mother, so I really do not care about their monetary value.
