I am hoping to have a big run on the first box and find some 40% and 90% silver and get her addicted to searching for more disposable income, then I can bring home more boxes. My plan will be depositing the searched rolls into another bank so at worst all I will lose is time, but who could even say that I am losing my time...it will be fun! I am also going to try and see if I can make an uncirculated set from coins I find in rolls too.

See.....I do have the "fever" .......but I've never been able to look at the silver I find as "disposable" .....
And shame on you for saying this !
If my fiance were to read this post/topic, THEN YOU WILL HAVE JUST GIVEN HER AN IDEA THAT WE SHOULD SELL MY SILVER FINDS !
.... ....
I've convinced her that it's to be saved for a "retirement supplement" of some level (depending on how much I find !) .....or even an "emergency" need of some sort....if it should be needed.
But my overall goal is to actually S.A.V.E. every single silver half that I can get my grubby hands on ! ...
I want to be able to fill a bathtub with Silver Kennedys in 30 years ! ...

I'm "half" kidding of course ! ..... ........
And I've thought about getting an album put together too.....but then I think how much I'd really like the Proofs in there as well.....and ......it starts getting expensive. So I just continue to put aside any nice ones I find (and any proofs or NIFC's).

I always go and return them. and the money would have just been sitting in the bank doing nothing.

EXACTLY!

I've found enough silver in the past 4 months to send a nickel to PCGS for grading...and still put $35 in my wallet. I search 1 box per week.

It ain't much...but it is fun. And the $500 is always "liquid". 24 hour turn around is the key.

I found a small bank that will order them as well... but found out later that they order from the FED.... also found out the Wells Fargo doesn't carry them and won't order them

if I am not mistaken that is the boxes you want. I have heard that everyone wants the federal reserve boxes and find the most silver and stuff in fed boxes

There certainly can be silver in the Fed boxes, but don't count out "customer rolls",( rolls that customers have brought in, or halves that tellers have in their tray). They are actually my favorite although I do both. You can reallllly do good with them!

I've found silver in both as well.......but I've been skunked for much longer looking through "customer/bank wrapped" rolls.......$4,000.00 - $5,000.00 worth "skunked" over several months. It made me take a looooonnnng hiatus. Then, some time back, ordered a fed box, then another, then another.....about 14 Silvers from that. 5 of which are 90%ers.
Could go either way........but the "consistency" for "me" is certainly with Fed boxes. (but one can certainly go several thousand dollars worth of searching these too and find absolutely nothing !)
Got another box on order (and a box of nickels)
It's as simple as this........if yer' findin' em'......it's fun ! .....if yer' not findin' em' ......it isn't fun.

Status update: $500 search. One 40% half. I found several miswrapped rolls(one had $12.50 and another had $11). I picked out several nice unc. coins for my dansco album collection. There were tons of uncirculated 1997 P and D coins in the mix. Anyone know why? I will pick up another box at the first of the week since I deposited the money back into my account today.

Keep in mind all, just because the spot price on silver is falling, does not mean that the value of 90% halves will fall. Halves bring a premium over dimes and quarters, heck, watching ebait today, they are still trading @ 13-14 X face plus shipping.
