Nice. I found another 2000 the other day. 4 total so far.
No 98 or 99's though. Not sure any more on the stats. Used to be the 2000 was the easiest to find. Some now say it's the 98. ?
I sold 3 2000's from 3 to 6 dollars each.
Depends on condition and who wants one etc.

I'm missing something. What's a WAM? What distinguishing feature do these coins share?

Wow, Thad! You've got an eye for those things. Great finds! I have found the 99 (just sent it off to Bob Piazza for attribution/authentication), but have not come across the 98 or the 2000...you would think the odds would produce at least one of those before the 99. Again, great finds!

I found my 99 WAM first also about 10 months ago and have since found 2 2000,s and 10 98's so I believe there are a lot more 98's than 2000's!By the way, I am about 100 miles away from BadThad so we must be in a WAM hotspot!

WAM hotspot, now that is an interesting topic.

It seems to make sense too. The WAM's was a case of an improper die being used for the reverse. Is it possible that the shipments of coins scheduled can be traced back to the time that an improper die was being used? For instance, it seems that the 2000 WAM is more common in Florida, but in KY its never seen, or at least I haven't found any yet. Here, all I ever find is 98 WAMS. I have 5 of them I've found in circulation.

Congrats on the WAM find Bad Thad!

*Add Northwestern New Jersey to the " WAM HOT SPOT"!

I have found many 98's and 2000's in the past 2 years (also found 2- 99's so far! )

It's probably because of the close proximity to the Philly Mint- less than 100 miles straight North.

Chadwick

I am in central KY and have found about 23 2000, 21 1998 and 5 1999 Wide AM's in the last twelve months. I try to look through four boxes a week. Maybe I found all of them that are in KY. Badthad is only a few miles from KY. Keep looking they will turn up.

Great finds, I have only found one 1998 and one 2000. I wish it was all due to location, if that was fact I should be able to find a 1992P Close AM. I work with Kie Brown (the one who found the second 1992P Close AM) and only live about three miles from him so we will see.

if you live anywhere west of the Mississippi, you pretty much have ZERO chance of pulling a WAM from circulation. I'm in CA and I only pull about 5 philly WAM year cents per box, and of course, no WAMs

Yea, the probability of finding a WAM in CA is practically zero. The only way to find them is to get boxes with lots of 98-00 P mint coins in them. In the boxes I get there are hundreds of them to look through.

I've found one 2000 WAM - but have only been through 6 boxes so far. Only do a box a week on average. Here in FL - 90% of the box is P mint, so my chances should be pretty good.
