Here is an ebay auction with the same looking coin. except this has a stronger date.

Any similarities?

Here's mine, versus a Heritage example:

Never mind, it's obviously not a 23-S now that I look at it more closely. Oh well, thanks everyone.

I kinda see a 3...but it looks like it is too far to the right. I hope it is, but I'm not sure.

The waviness in your example that your mind wants to be a 3 isn't int he right location. It's some type of scratch, maybe? Sorry, don't think so

I agree, it's not a 1923-s. Sorry man, :-(. My question now is, did you pay $150 for it like this thread says? or did you pay $2 like the Collectors Universe thread says? If you only paid $2 for it, who cares...you got it below melt! At $150, I'd be getting my things together in a real hurry for a return. Good luck!

Yup, that and 8 other SLQ's I got for $1.50, plus some 90% halves for 10x face. The halves were originally 14x face, but he always gives gigantic discounts. he has tons and tons of silver lying around, I'm saving to go back there and get a bunch of silver for most likely way below spot.

Lol. The owner really is strange. He bases his prices on condition, so dateless SLQ's are 6x face while readable dates are 14x face, and 1964 Unc. JFK's are 14x face, while you can get Walkers for less than 12x face most of the time.

That is kinda weird. Maybe he still thinks silver is $8 an ounce. Anyways, what I would do if he has tons of it is: buy as much as possible, flip it on ebay for a profit, and use the profit to continue buying from him. Repeat the cycle until he runs out.

I should do that. The weird thing is though, his prices really vary. I've picked up silver at 4x and others at 11 and 12x face, even when silver was the same. Also, the shop is about 30 minutes away from me, but if it wasn't I'd flip and buy there constantly.
