See Anything Wrong Here?

That is one of the wordt fakes Ive ever seen. Also why would anyone sell a key date morgan for only 50$

yep, 1 of 1 woohoo just think about the registry points you could get on that one

Heres a little update. I reported two of his listings as fake Morgans,the 94 CC & the 98 CC. and they pulled all his listings!
hopefully he didn't get too many people.

Lax, I don't remember the name, I had it saved to my ebay but that disappeared when they pulled his listing. I remember he was from OK and he had 23 transactions at 100% positive.

I'm pretty new at this, but I'm interested in Morgans as I have a few (not key dates). I would like to know whether there is anything about this coin other than the price that lets knowledgeable coin collecters know it is a fake. Is it the funny 9? Or are there other indications. Thanks for any light you can shed.

The bad date stamp was the first clue for me and what made me investigate further. The denticles (the tiny tooth like projections around the edge of the coin) look deformed at the 5:00 area. Also the color around the stars and wording of the coin were bad. The coin just has the look of being poured instead of stamped. Most fakes are poured,hot metal poured into a mold. Also the seller would no supply a picture of the reverse of the coin,which to me says hes hiding something.After looking at the other Morgan dollars he had up for auction, it was obvious he was selling fakes. You could actually see the pour marks on some of the others and he was listing CC coins that were never minted.Apparently he didn't even bother to do his homework before he listed them.Heres another he had listed.

Hi Diane,

Welcome to our forum if I have not said it before--

It's just not the 9 either. The 4 looks to perfect and is also mis-aligned IMHO if you look at closely.

I just hate to see people get ripped off. The only reason I caught it was I'm looking for 1893,94 Morgans and he had a bunch of them. I guess if your going to sell fakes you want to sell the high dollar ones.
