Art - feel free to post pictures of the boring Victorian Bun heads and others, as well. These postings have been fantastic.

artdio, you need to remeasure your Victorian coin. If it's 12 cm (?!?!) then it's a giant, if it's 12 mm then it's a runt, becase the smallest coin, 1/4 farthing is 13.5 mm diameter.

Just as I thought (I once measured with a wrong ruler). So now it's final: as I said it was a copper halfpenny, 28 mm diameter. (In 1860 they switched to bronze and reduced the size to 25 mm.)

#5 is from the Papal States, Year 9 of the reign of Pope Innocent XI (= 1684 AD). There are two types of large copper coins from the Papal city-state of Gubbio with this date, depending on what's on the other side. Giving us the diameter could help confirm the denomination, too.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
