That's an awesome idea, Jim. I think I'll do that!

My son has an 1858 from a junk box that's not nearly as nice as that one. Do you think you might be willing to send him this 1857, as long as you're not planning to keep it? He'd really get excited.

Absolutely! You got it AndrewC! PM me your address, and your son's name (I want to address it to him as a surprise). How old is he?

I was trying to think of a contest idea, but this solves my problem. Especially if I know it will go to someone who appreciates it! Thanks for responding!

He's eight.

Better make that 8 1/2.

Excellent!

I'm going to ask him for a favor in return. He must sit down and watch 1 episode of Scooby Doo and it's his!

Thank you so much for the awesome idea, Jim! You just made my day!

Got it! I'll have it in the mail tomorrow!

I'm at work right now and I work nights, so I won't be home until 9-10PM. I'm going to try and find a Scooby Doo sticker to put as the return address!

Maybe you can convince him that Scooby is a coin collector!

Unfortunately, it won't really be a surprise-he's Coinman1014 (Here's his type set: https://goccf.com/t/62814#62814). He'll definitely watch Scooby-Doo, though--he and his brother are big fans.

I'm amazed you found that in a roll.

To those that mentioned G-2, remember that is not the correct terminology.

FR-2 is, as in Fair-2.

I would have graded it AG-3.Nice show of generosity.

I know dealers that use G7,VG9,F18 etc. That drives me crazy.
